with Laura Fraedrich, Allard's Artist

$49 all supplies included

If you’ve ever found yourself wandering down the aisles of a fabric store, I’m sure you’ve noticed the beautiful and intricate patterns of batik fabric. It’s a craft that originated in eastern countries and has been becoming increasingly popular in the West. In this class you will learn how to create your very own batik designs on decorative paper using soy wax, a very environmentally friendly product used to create resist. We will use a variety of inks and paints to create six beautiful sheets of paper that you can use in collage or as a stand-alone piece of art. The process you learn can be used on fabric as well if you’re a fiber artist. Come learn something new and exciting!
