with Lauren Ball, Local Artist

$140 plus supplies

This basic drawing workshop is intended for adults who want to draw what they see, or who have wished they could draw but didn’t think they had the “talent.” There are only five skills every artist uses to realistically draw everything. They need to perceive edges, spaces, relationships, light vs shadow, and the gestalt, or overall feel of the thing. Using Betty Edwards’ Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain we will work through exercises demonstrating these skills. At the end of the workshop you will be able to draw anything you observe with confidence.

Instructor—Local artist Lauren Ball has thirty-five years’ experience applying and teaching the five basic drawing skills outlined in this workshop. Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain is the most widely-used drawing instruction book and has sold over two million copies.
